OSB boards

The OSB board- is the Oriented Strand Boards, so the board with the oriented flat scobs. It is a wood- product, flatly-pressed, three-layered board, which consists of rectangular flat scobs, which under the high-pressure and temperatures, with the use as binders of the special waterproof, formaldehyde-phenolic-carbamide-melamine resin, are pressed to boards with a method of the hot rolling . This is the first wood-derivative board, worked out especially for the building.

The board contains over 90% of woods. It is produced from the specially selected trunks of trees – so-called pine leftovers gained mainly from glades of nursing forests. The wood is decoricated and cut completely into the
rectangular flat scobs, which have the assumed dimensions: the length - 100 mm, the thickness - 0, 6 mm and the different width, depending on the part,which they come from.. The strands of scobs in the OSB board run in the topcoats, parallelly to the length of the board , and perpendicularly in the internal layers 
High technical parameters of the OSB board get out of maintenances of the wood fibrousness, the adjustement of flat scobs in layers and fitting of long scobs, and by spraying of scobs with the special glue system and the paraffin- emulsion in so-called glue-finishers - it obtains the large weather resistance.
The board is free from humps, cracks and other internal defects , and both surfaces show the similar quality. Produced in the modern technology, it attains plywood- comparable parameters and is relatively cheaper. Easy in the processing and transformation, causes the smaller waste of tools, and thanks to its own large endurance, does not cause problems with fastening of screws and building clamps. The OSB board marks with the stability of the shape, with the very good weather resistance, stroke resistance, with the good sound insulation, easy machinability and processing. The microstructure of fitting scobs prevents breaking off the edges, also at the joining of the edges with nails and gives the high stiffness and the inflexion resistance, as well as on cutting off - these are important properties in the skeletal building.

 

The use

The OSB board, because of the resistance to the activity of the moisture contracted in the air , low absorbability and the heave, especially is fitted to constructions of buildings in the skeletal technology. It possesses the suitable technical parameters in the range of endurances, guaranteeing the stiffness and the endurance of the building construction. .

The OSB board is wood-derivative material of the future. The quality, the harmlessness to environment, as well during production as boards uses and versatile possibilities of the use are the most important features of OSB boards.

The coefficient of the heat transmission „k” for the wall executed in the skeletal system depends on the kind and the thickness of the used insulating material.
